  14.      Many of the calls I handle for viruses are not viruses at all, but other problems with the Mac. If you are having problems with your machine crashing, these are the most common reasons and their solution.

  16. Corrupted System Software: Your system file has somehow gone bad. Using the installer program that comes with your system software disks, install new system software.

Confused PRAM: The Parameter RAM, or ‚ÄúPRAM,‚Äù holds many of the basic operating parameters for the Mac. If it contains garbage it will cause trouble. Hold down the Command, Option, and Shift keys while opening the control panel. Answer ‚ÄúYes‚Äù to the dialog box presented. This clears the PRAM.
